Mark Harrington has worked on a wide variety of projects in Devon where he is based, the Home Counties, and as far afield as Hawaii and mainland USA. Each project has been a pleasure, and has taught him a little more about thatching. There's always something to learn...

Experienced Craftsmen

Mark served his apprenticeship with a Master Thatcher in South Devon, spending a year labouring and a further two years at Knuston Hall, the rural training and craft centre that was the only thatching training centre of it's kind in the world, and is now sadly no more. He returned to work with the Master Thatcher who trained him until his retirement, at which point Mark ventured out into the world as a thatcher in his own right.

The Thatch Advice Centre

The Thatch Advice Centre is run by Master Thatchers and thatched home owners to give you the benefit of many years of experience. Their aim is to offer people relevant, useful and up to date information so that they can make an informed decision on whatever they are doing or planning with their thatched property.

The Thatch Directory

The Thatch Directory is a bespoke website of Thatch Specialists organised by County. Searches are by postcode (or county) and results are shown by County and distance. It is a well organised and specific directory with straight forward contact information and links.
